Students

2016-2017

WELCOME

Dear Parents & Guardians,

We are excited to announce that many of our district schools have been qualified to participate in the new Federal Community Eligibility Provision program which allows us to offer all students enrolled at these schools breakfast and lunch at no cost.
Participating schools are: Brookdale Elementary, Central Avenue Elementary, Christensen Elementary, Elmhurst Elementary, Harvard Elementary, James Sales Elementary, Midland Elementary, Ford Middle, Keithley Middle, and GATES High.

All students attending the above listed schools will receive a breakfast and a  lunch at no cost every school day starting the first day of school and throughout the entire school year.  Families of students enrolled in these schools will not be required to submit applications for free or reduced meals. However, families  with students enrolled at non qualifying schools must still submit a free and reduced meal application for processing for those students.

We strongly encourage families to complete the family income survey that will be sent home with all students the first week of school.  The information you provide in this survey will help ensure that your child continues to have access to the level of resources he/she has at school. The completed survey can be turned in to your child's school or the Nutrition Services Office.

For questions regarding the CEP program or the Family Income Survey please contact the Nutrition Services office at 253.298.4618.

2016-2017 Free and Reduced Meal Applications

Parent Reminders:
For faster processing, completed applications can be submitted directly to the Nutrition Services Office.  Applications turned in at school or elsewhere in the district can take up to 7-10 business days to process from the day it is received in the Nutrition Services office. Parents/guardians must make meal arrangements for students, i.e. sack lunch/pay cash or check for meals, until an application is processed and approved.
The new income guidelines chart can be found in the 2016-2017 letter to household.
