Wrestling teams take the state tournament by storm

Wrestling PhotoThe Washington High School wrestling team qualified a record number of wrestlers for the Mat Classic State Tournament at the Tacoma Dome. With eight competitors, the team was able to clench a top 10 finish, the highest number of qualifiers in school history. Individually, the wrestlers had the highest placements in 10 years for Washington:

Tariq Ellis (3rd)
Kitrell Willingham (4th)
Marquel Parks (6th)
Deandre Williams (6th)
David Camacho (8th)

Franklin Pierce also competed in the state tournament, with podium finishes for 3 wrestlers:

Max-Henry Nelson (4th)
Faith Ghramm (6th)
Bryce House (8th)

After the Mat Classic is held in the Tacoma Dome, the State Finals for Free Style Wrestling is held. In this competition, we had one wrestler from Keithley place first and become a State Champion! Congratulations to 6th grader Seth Dawkins from KMS!
