13 individuals and 2 schools honored at May 9 School Board meeting

A ceremony was held by the Franklin Pierce School Board of Directors on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, to honor the district's two schools that won a 2016 Washington Achievement award and the 13 individuals who won either an Excellence in Education or Partner in Education award.

The recipients of the 2016 Washington Achievement award:

  • Brookdale Elementary -- High Math Growth
  • Christensen Elementary -- High Math Growth

Both schools received this award for being in the top 5% of schools in the State of Washington.

The recipients of the 2017 Excellence in Education (Employee) award:
  • Mary Brown, KMS/Support Services Custodial
  • Lisa Chatterton, Nutrition Services Director
  • Jesse McNeil, FPHS JAG/Video Production/Athletics Coordinator
  • Jeff Melvard, FPHS Mathematics Teacher
  • Brian Runnalls, IT Network Infrastructure Manager
  • Eric Stanczyk, WHS Social Studies Teacher
  • Jenny Williams, Brookdale Paraeducator
  • Adam Williamson, WHS Language Arts Teacher
  • Cindy Yant, Brookdale Office Manager
