GATES High School recently won a $5,000 Lowes Grant. The funds will primarily be used to create fitness stations for Physical Education and community members, add raised garden beds for environmental science courses, and install picnic tables for the students to use throughout the school day. This grant comes at the early stages of a larger vision to create a walking path around the perimeter of the property that will be used by students and community members.
The school will be scheduling work days to bring the school and community together to complete these projects. "We are hoping to build a better relationship with the community while also providing our students with amenities they deserve," said Mr. Justin Nolan, Assistant Principal at GATES. For more information about how you can get involved, please contact Mr. Nolan at email@example.com or (253) 298-4002.
