FCCLA visits the Washington State Capitol

FCCLA teamOn Wednesday, January 27, Washington High School’s Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Advisor Marnie Patton, took 11 WHS FCCLA students to the Washington State Legislature for Career and Technical Education (CTE) Civic Engagement Day. Students were able to meet with Senator Conway and Representative Sawyer to share their stories of how CTE and FCCLA have impacted their lives and to ask for the legislators’ support on very important CTE bills that will be in hearings next week. “Our experience was eye opening. It showed us that we have a voice about issues in our community and we CAN make a difference, “ said Sherri Payan, one of the students that participated.
