Unless you live close to Pacific Avenue or 112th Street, public transportation options are quite limited in the Franklin Pierce community. Thanks to a new initiative that links Lyft with Pierce Transit, that is about to change. A grant from the Federal Transit Administration allows riders to access free Lyft rides up to one mile to and from local transit centers.
The 18SPANPARK and 18MIDLAND Ride Zones drastically increase accessibility to public transportation services in the Franklin Pierce boundaries. The intent of this service is to encourage more people to utilize public transportation, to link users with their employer and other vital services, and reduce parking congestion at transit centers. Riders are limited to a maximum of 48 first and last mile rides per month. This service is available 7 days per week between the hours of 5:00 am and 10:30 pm.
