Spring sports season wraps up, students and teams performed well

Spring SportsCongratulations to our student athletes who participated in spring sports!

Baseball

Franklin Pierce High School:
-Finished 5th in League and competed in the District Tournament.
-Finished 6th in the WCDIII Tournament, allowing them to compete at the State Tournament.
-Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning team GPAs of 3.03 (Varsity), 3.03 (JV), and 3.04 (C).

Washington High School:
-Finished 4th in League and competed in the District Tournament.

Fastpitch

Franklin Pierce High School:
-Received the SPSL Sportsmanship Award.
-Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning team GPAs of 3.28 (Varsity) and 3.00 (JV).

Washington High School:
-Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning team GPAs of 3.17 (Varsity) and 3.24 (JV).

Boys Soccer

Franklin Pierce High School:
-Finished 2nd in League and competed in the District Tournament.
-Mitchell Balmer named SPSL 2A 1st Team All-League.

Girls Tennis

Franklin Pierce High School:
-In the League Tournament, Kristi Floyd and Lauren Baker finished 1st in Doubles. Caitrin McKenna and Emily Lewis finished 3rd in Doubles. Also in Singles, Meraisha Larsen finished with a 3rd seed for the District Tournament
-Team finished 6th in the District Tournament.
-In the District Tournament, Kristi Floyd and Lauren Baker finished 5th in Doubles.
-Kristi Floyd and Karli Floyd competed in Doubles in the State Championship.
-Earned the WIAA Outstanding Scholastic Award for earning team GPAs of 3.57 (Varsity) and 3.53 (JV). Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning a team GPA of 3.31 (C).

Washington High School:
-Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning team GPAs of 3.44 (Varsity) and 3.09 (JV).

State Track & Field

Franklin Pierce High School:
-As a team, the girls placed 31st in state and the boys placed 19th.
-Patryce McWilliams placed 3rd in Girls 800 Meter Run and 13th in Girls 1600 Meter Run.
-Jayden Dalton placed 10th in Girls 100 High Hurdles (Prelims).
-Zulauf, Shelton, Patryce McWilliams and Tashylah Combs placed 9th in Girls 4x400 Meter Relay (Prelims).
-Lisa Sao placed 16th in Girls Discus Throw.
-Stephan Hull placed 6th in Boys 800 Meter Run and 6th in Boys 1600 Meter Run.
-Hilton Starling, Willie Patterson, Ehrmann and Owen Smith placed 13th in Boys 4x100 Meter Relay (Prelims).
-Eaves, Edge, Willie Patterson and Stephan Hull placed 9th in Boys 4x400 Meter Relay (Prelims).
-Diondre Abbott placed 9th in Boys Discus Throw.
-Denzel Jones placed 15th in Boys Javelin Throw.
-Emmanuel Thornton placed 12th in High Jump and 6th in Long Jump.
-Owen Smith placed 6th in Triple Jump.
-Girls Track & Field earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning team GPAs of 3.38 (Varsity) and 3.41 (JV).

Washington High School:
-As a team, the boys placed 41st in state.
-For the second consecutive year, the team received the SPSL Sportsmanship Award.
-Nehemiah Whiteside placed 13th in Boys 100 Meter Dash.
-Clairriss Johnson, Auricia Johnson, Faith Miller and Tyra Cavalier placed 13th in Girls 4x100 Meter Relay (Prelims).
-Alejandro Snead placed 7th in Boys 400 Meter Dash.
-Kia Hoehn placed 16th in Girls Long Jump.
-Girls Track & Field earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning a team GPAs of 3.19 (Varsity) and Boys Track & Field earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning a team GPAs of 3.05 (Varsity).

State Golf

Franklin Pierce High School:
-Stormie Follen placed 9th in the State Tournament.

Washington High School:
-Khoa Nguyen placed 9th in Singles in the State Tournament.
