Washington High School science teacher, Nancy Mouat-Rich, won a $7,000 competitive grant from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, which will pay for equipment necessary for general biology students to engage in a real world research project. Students will aide in researching the effects of ultraviolet light on yeast colonies, with and without the use of different types of UV protection (i.e. sunscreen). Students will present their findings at the end of their term. Congratulations, Nancy!
